The Armchair workout has evolved: Balance, Bike and now Lilo workout

Updated: Feb 19, 2021

Dad at the Lilo (swimming) workout complete with swimming goggles

BBC Radio Devon and The Armchair workout have been helping Devon become a little stronger and more enthused to move more over past months. All the movements we do can be done from your Armchair - which is how the workout was born, standing, seated at the bus stop or in the passenger seat of a car in a traffic jam. July was Balance month, August was Bike month and September is Lilo month (or Swimming month). Bring your imagination and spend just 3 minutes moving a little. Great stretches, and strengthening exercises that you won't even realise were exercise as you will be visualising yourself swimming in the sea, tip-toeing through the tulips or standing in a forest with butterflies flapping around you.

It's on BBC Radio Devon Rick Edwards show Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening approximately 7.25-7.45.

This was my Dad last night getting in to the swim of things with his swimming goggles - no handy lilo floating around.
